Rob Bell – “Who’s that Gobshite?!?!”

Rob Bell

Hi, I’m Rob Bell. I’m a (reasonably) young gentleman living in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England – a marketing prodigy (youngest person ever awarded Chartered Marketer status) rendered near useless several years ago after breaking my back twice in 5 years – I used to love my extreme sports! I had a couple of pretty high falls – the falls didn’t hurt me though – the sudden stops at the end did all the damage! After the second time, I took some time away from everything – stuck on a sofa, in pain, for a couple of years as the BBC Radio 1-proclaimed “Britain’s Unluckiest Man”, before setting up my own Web Design, Internet Services and Marketing companies – see Rob Bell Web Design, British Webmasters and Ex Ignibus for more info on those.

Having risen from the ashes of my former self, more empowered, more motivated (sometimes more than others, like you all) and back in what can seem an oft-tenuous command of the experience we call life, I am starting this blog to encourage my own creative writing – I write copy as part of my work, but I also enjoy writing so want to do more. It’s going to contain commentary on things in the news, business related matters, and Internet and Marketing related content. I might introduce several of my clients and detail how they’re using the Web to their advantage.

There’ll be positive and negative commentary, and I’m sure we’ll even have the occasional tiff when you disagree with something I’ve said, but remember, the make-up sex will be great! There’ll be occasions when you don’t hear from me for a week or two – when work is frantic, as it oft gets.

Sometimes, humour and randomness – two major components of my being – will no doubt raise their odd-shaped heads in my blog, and hey you’ll even get some sad times, so get the tissues ready, just in case.

So I bid you all a good welcome, pull up a comfy chair and a cup of tea, and let’s get scriblical (I am aware scriblical is a word I just made up, so no need to let me know, thank you for the thought though!). Try singing it to the tune of Olivia Newton John’s ‘Let’s Get Physical’, and you’ll get the joke more… it’s poor I know, I’ll try harder in future.
